International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women: events in Santarcangel

“Votes for Women!” and “Liminal Readings” celebrate the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women with initiatives and moments to reflect on the topic, while “Food as Culture” returns with a new meeting dedicated to “Good, Clean and Fair Food”: all weekend events in Santarcangelo.

A meeting dedicated to the culture of food and wine will kick off the weekend’s events: tomorrow (Thursday 23 November) at 9pm in the Baldini Library Professor Carlo Catani will present his studies on food, focused mainly on the issues of food quality, sustainability and the fight against waste. Double appointment on Saturday 25 November, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women: at 4 pm in the Baldini Library a new meeting of the “Liminal Reading” series is planned, starring Giorgia Serughetti – researcher at the University of Milan-Bicocca and author, among others, of the volume “Men who pay women” (Ediesse, 2013) – in dialogue with Giovanni Boccia artieri on ” Free all. From abortion to the veil. Women in the New Millennium”.

At 18:30, Piazza Ganganelli will host an aperitif banquet “Don’t turn around”organized by Coordinamento Donne Anpi Santarcangelo, Pro Loco, Valmarecchia Comunità Solidale, Rompi il Silenzio, Città Viva and Coop Alleanza 3.0, in collaboration with Avis Santarcangelo, Cna Impresa Donna, Fermenta, Il Punto Super Rosa, Rimini Smoke Santa Boxnova Santarcangelo.

On Sunday, November 26 at 5 p.m. in the library, a staged reading in the music “Journey to a fairy tale. Skeleton Woman”with Lucia Ferrini and Alex Magnani in the adaptation of La Fucina del Tempo, which closes the Voices for Women exhibition.

Drama, comedy, animation and detective stories are the films in Superkina cinemas: “The old oak” by Ken Loach is scheduled for November 23-27, “There’s Still Tomorrow” by Paola Cortellesi from November 23 to December 6, while “Mary and the Midnight Ghost” by Enzo D’Alò (November 26, 4:30 p.m.), Claudio Caligari’s “Scent of the Night” (November 28, 8:30 p.m.) and the restored version of Joel Coen’s “The Big Lebowski” (November 29, 9 p.m.).
