One of the best pastry shops in Italy chosen by Gambero Rosso is from Cattolica

In Cattolica, the “Pasticceria Canasta” of the Ercoles family was once again ranked among the best pastry shops in Italy this year. In the province of Rimini, 5 pastry shops have been awarded, including Canasta, opened in Regina as early as 1948. The guide “Pasticceri e Pasticcerie d’Italia 2024”, created by the famous magazine “Gambero Rosso”, has reached its thirteenth edition. This year, 650 businesses were selected, selected not only for the goodness of their desserts, but also and above all for the quality of service and care in furnishing the premises.

“We are happy that this year the prestigious Gambero Rosso guide ranked our establishment among the 5 best in the province of Rimini,” he explains Marco Ercoles, who runs the family business together with his brother Luigi and son Alessandro -.Recognition that repays the commitment, consistency and passion with which we do our work every day; vocation, ours, which also consists of basic choices. In fact, we have always chosen to focus on finding the best possible quality in every facet or facet of the world of coffee, pastry and chocolate production, and it is very gratifying that experts in the field, accustomed to visiting many similar establishments to ours, fully recognize this commitment of ours. As always, however, we look at these findings as new starting points and never as destination points to strive for continuous improvement – emphasizes Ercoles – We are especially excited to mention the use of live mother yeast, which is also the basis of our wonderful festive leavened products, artisanal Panettoni and Pandora. Constant research in the use of these techniques also allowed us to win the award for the best Italian Panettone last Christmas in Milan, among other things. Panettone, ours, which is preservative-free and highly digestible thanks to the live mother yeast – concludes the master confectioner –. Thank you once again to Gambero Rosso for this important recognition, it really means a lot to us.”
