If you love fall flavors and colors, jam pumpkin and cinnamon must not be missing from your pantry. This delicious marmalade without white sugar will be a hit for breakfast and as a snack, but you can also offer it as an appetizer with your favorite cheeses.

For home preparation, we recommend choosing a pumpkin with firm flesh and choosing raw cane sugar instead of refined white sugar.

  • 800 g cleaned pumpkin (peeled and cut into pieces)
  • 300 g of raw cane sugar
  • 2 sticks of cinnamon
  • 2 glasses of water


Place the thinly sliced ​​pumpkin in a non-stick pan and add all the ingredients. Bring to a boil over medium heat with the lid on to dissolve the sugar and once it starts to boil, remove the lid and turn up the heat. Use a medium-sized stove. Stir occasionally, and when the pumpkin is soft and can be mashed with a spoon, turn off the heat and blend everything with a blender.

Now for stage 2. The jam will still be watery and since we used a little sugar to caramelize it to a creamy consistency, turn the stove on high and let your chocolate pumpkin cream dry while stirring. It’s the one time when no distractions are allowed, sorry, caramelized charcoal. But with this procedure the cooking times are much shorter and the result is fantastic. If you want to preserve the marmalade, boil it by pasteurizing it after placing it in the jars. It can be stored in the pantry for several months.

How to enjoy jam

You can enjoy your pumpkin and cinnamon jam crackers, on hot toaston cookies or use it to prepare cakes and other sweets. We recommend trying it on homemade pancakes as well. This preserve is also perfect as an appetizer to add a tasty touch to cheeses, both soft and mature.
