Want an exceptional second course on Christmas Eve? We prepare shrimp in a citrus sauce and I present to you a second course fit for a king

Let’s prepare a second course fit for a king, special because today we decide on the Christmas menu on the 24th, Christmas. The menu is of course based on fish, as tradition dictates, but we have to give it that touch of delicacy and individuality. Let’s play with sauces and spices, so what goes well with fish? I would say a nice citrus sauce, something that gives you the sourness of the orange and lemon and gives the fish that special flavor.

We eat fish, but without having the same meals over and over again. we differ in that, in the spices, which we can vary and also serve different ones. Of course, I preferred shellfish as fish. Prawns. How delicious, instead of grilling in the classic version we all know, we make them in the oven and serve them in a citrus sauce.

Shrimp in citrus sauce

For this sauce, we can decide whether we want to make it with only lemon or with lemon and orange. I prefer the second solution.

Ingredients

500 g of shrimp

parsley

1 lemon

1 orange

half a glass of white wine

pepper

salt

olive oil

Take a bowl and pour olive oil with lemon and orange juice and add salt and pepper, for example freshly ground (pink or black). Mix well with a fork and add parsley, which we will have washed and finely chopped. We take a baking dish and line it with special paper and stack the shrimp next to each other and dip them in citrus sauce.

How to make Baked Shrimp with Citrus Sauce

Let them macerate for about 30 minutes and then bake them at 180 degrees, cook for about 7/8 minutes (watch the power of your oven so you don’t dry out the sauce too much or burn the shrimp). When the crustaceans are well cooked, we cover them and dip them in another citrus sauce that we get from the cooking bottom. You can’t imagine the joy you will serve at Christmas, these prawns are extraordinary and can be prepared in no time. At least we won’t have to stay up in the kitchen for the second course.
